Ficus Plant Care

Light and Temperature Requirements – The indoor Ficus needs bright but indirect light. Place it near the south or west-facing window in your building. If your building can’t facilitate this, use a grow light. The plant can’t handle low temperatures. The temperature always has to be above 60 degrees Fahrenheit and ideally above 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Soil Conditions – Pot your Ficus Plant in well-drained fertile soil. You should use moisture soil-based potting mixes. The pH level of the soil should be maintained between 6.0 and 6.5.

Water Requirements – The trick is to not overwater. Overwatering can turn the leaves yellow. Your plant would much rather be dry than wet. So, water in intervals. Allow the water to get soaked and dry out before you water again. Check if the plant needs water by tipping the pot. If it’s really light, you need to water it.

Food Requirements – Use a liquid all-purpose fertilizer. You can use it anytime between April to September as that is the plant’s growing season.
